2006 Mâcon Vinzelles
£6.95 (£83.40)
  Cave des Grands Crus Blancs
Straightforward, unoaked Chardonnay from this excellent small co-operative. The rich buttery texture of this wine is entirely down to quality of fruit and very good winemaking.

2006 Petit Chablis
£8.25 (£99.00)
  Domaine Denis Pommier
'Petit' Chablis only by name, Pommier's wine is relatively full bodied with crunchy fruit and fresh acidity. An excellent aperitif and great match for smoked salmon.

2005 Bourgogne Blanc
£8.95 (£107.40)
  Terroirs de Côte d'Or Verget
Simply classified as Bourgogne Blanc, but made entirely from Chassagne and Meursault fruit, this has very fresh fruit, and is very Côte d'Or in style. Excellent value, this is showing really beautifully now.

2005 Chablis
£9.95 (£119.40)
  Domaine Adhémar et Francis Boudin
Boudin's usual, quite deeply coloured green-gold style, with the fatness which this domaine always seems to produce, (which some decry as 'not typical', though the inimitable Chablis Kimmeridge-mineral character is always there in abundance). Truly on form in this mineral led vintage.

2005 Saint Véran
£10.95 (£131.40)
  En Crèches Domaine Daniel Barraud
Medium-bodied, with expressive bright fruit and refreshing minerality this is a great example of St Veran and drinking beautifully now.

2005 Mâcon Charnay
£10.95 (£131.40)
  Le Clos Saint Pierre Verget
Creamy and round, an ideal expression of an expressively fruity Mâconnais wine.

2004 Viré-Clessé
£11.95 (£143.40)
  Domaine de Roally
Very classy, this has become an immediate success with our customers, full, richly-textured, layered with brightly defined fruit and a gently honeyed top-note. Very much in the Thévenet tradition.

2004 Bourgogne Blanc
£12.95 (£155.40)
  Domaine Rémi Jobard
Bright, good definition - quite taut for this wine with good balance and while it is good to drink already it will round even more over a year or two. Very much a 'baby Meursault' in style.

2005 Saint Aubin Princée
£13.95 (£167.40)
  Domaine Hubert Lamy
Soft and exotic, quite fat, a precocious and easy style. Young vines make up 25% of this cuvée, which makes it more 'flatteur'. Very yellow fruit in its expression, which Olivier remarks is characteristic of the ripeness of the vintage.

2004 Chablis
£14.25 (£171.00)
1er Cru Côte de Léchet Domaine Denis Pommier
Zesty and aromatic, this is a classicaly styled Chablis both from one of the region’s top vineyards and producers.

2004 Pouilly Fuissé
£19.25 (£231.00)
Vieilles Vignes Les Crays Domaine Daniel Barraud
From very old vines, the Les Crays has a mineral, muscular line which drives the weight and power to a tremendous finish.

2005 Meursault
£19.95 (£239.40)
  Limozin Jobard Chabloz
A fairly forward wine showing plump supple fruit with some soft buttered hazelnut tones. Good easy Meursault character for relatively early consumption.
