Terre de Vertus Extra Brut 1er Cru
100% Chardonnay from Premier Cru vineyards planted in 1982 and 1962, given absolutely no 'dosage', making it an ultra brut, and in Pierre Larmandier's words a true expression of the Vertus 'terroir'. Elegant, restrained, with toasty, citrus flavours and underlying minerality, this really is a sensational wine.

Tradition Brut
Grand Cru Ambonnay |
The wine is fermented using natural yeast and aged on the lees for a year so that the wines clarify slowly, before they are bottled without fining or filtering. The cuvée (70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay) is composed of 50% of the vintage harvested a year before the bottling in 2000 (1999) with the other 50% made up of 20% of 1998, 20% of 1997, and 10% from 1996. A rich, full-bodied wine with evolved flavours this is immensely satisfying.

Rosé de Saignée Brut Vertus
This is a genuine 'rosé de saignée' made only from Pinot Noir. Grapes are destemmed and left to macerate for about two days before the juice is 'bled off' for fermentation. The wine is matured on the 'lees' over winter, and after being aged in the cellars is given only a very discreet 'dosage' (3 grams of sugar). Full bodied, elegant and very pure flavours.
